A New York City Club & Mobile DJ for over 20 yrs. From Feb of ‘97 until Sept. ‘11, Nino held a 4 year residency as DJ and co-host for Manhattan’s hottest Latin ‘after work’ dance party called “Mambo, Baby?” on Thursdays, at "The Greatest Bar On Earth” attached to “Windows On The World” Restaurant atop tower #1 of The World Trade Center. Featuring Latin Music's greatest performers on a weekly basis. His diverse music program for Thursdays included Salsa, Merengue, Hip Hop, R&B, Club Classics and House. The 3 yr weekly event was Latin in flavor but the clientele was international. Early in the year 2000, Nino was hired to host and promote a Disco dance party called "Glitter" also at "The Greatest Bar On Earth". Nino hosted the weekly show with guest DJ’s and true disco artists like Tavares, Crown Heights Affair, The Trammps, SKYY, France Joli, The Ritchie Family and many more performers during the eight months run of the popular "Glitter" parties.

Since 9/11, Nino booked guest DJ appearances at various NYC clubs like The World, Saci, Centro Fly, Webster Hall, Avalon (Limelight), DEEP and Discotheque, Tatou NYC, The El Flamingo, Copacaabana & others. Nino’s Classic Disco mixes were featured on NYC Radio stations WKTU and MIX102, both stations showcasing classic Disco & 80’s music. Some of his DJ contracts through NiteMix Entertainment included The South Street Seaport Music Cruises, Post Grammy Parties and international bookings in Santo Domingo, Cancun, “Bongo’s” in Miami, 9 annual Carribean Cruises (detailes below).

In January of 2002 he organized and promoted a five week event called The Club Classics DJ Competition. With 25 DJ’s that were true club classics DJ’s. The event began with a 4 week run in a small Brooklyn club called NOI, with a 200 person capacity. Then the finals at a NYC club called Busker Browns with a capacity of 500. His contacts in the music industry contributing their time to alternate in the Judging duties for the entire event. Representatives from Salsoul, West End, Atlantic and Tommy Boy Records, NYC radio’s WKTU, Kiss FM, and many more affiluent judges were also involved. Out of the competing 25 DJ’s, Nino Torre placed third at the finals behind Rene Hewitt and Nelson ‘Paradise’ Roman who places 1st.

 NiteMix Entertainment was Launched in ‘04, a mobile DJ entertainment business. Through his own NiteMix event promotions, he’s hosted events at landmak NYC venues like landmarks E’toile, The Russian Tea Room, Vudu Lounge, The El Flamingo, Tatou NYC and Tavern On The Green in Central Park. In May ’05 he was also featured on NYC local WPIX TV as the DJ jamming Salsa in the “Salsa & Suds” promotion of a new Laundromat chain in a Latin community in Brooklyn, NY.

From 2000 until 2009 Nino had established himself as the official Art Director, Music Coordinator & host DJ for an annual Hustle & Salsa Dance Cruise with Florida based director Drew Axelrod. Since then Nino has also been an invited DJ for National Dance competitions: MADJAM hosted by Dave Moldover, Disco America hosted by Donna Boyle & Joyce Szili & World Hustle Dance Championships hosted by Diane Nardone. Most recently Nino also DJ'd at the NYC Hustle Congress hosted by Lori Brizzi in '09 and The NYC Intl. Salsa Congress in '10.

After moving his family to Richmond, Virginia in late Summer of 2005, he focused on a Fund-Raiser for Hurricane Katrina's Victims in Richmond's Latino community. The event was featured on the local NBC TV channel 12 and was well attended. (See next paragraph)
Club Gigs in and around Richmond, VA included: Big Daddy's, Club Q, Aurora, Mi Hacienda, Don Pappa Grande, House of Comedy Entertainment (Ft. Lee), Luna Lounge (Hopewell), Illusionz & Pappa Grande in downtown Richmond.

In May ’05 he was also featured on NYC local WPIX TV as the DJ jamming Salsa in the “Salsa & Suds” promotion of a new Laundromat chain in a Latin community in Brooklyn, NY.

Nino moved back to NYC in mid 2011 and re-solidified all his prior NYC contacts and has recently made Hallandale Beach FL his new home.
From international night clubs in exotic locations, to the ballrooms of many Bride’s fantasy weddings, Nino Torre is capable of mixing entire programs of Top 40, House, Hip Hop, Reggae, Assorted Latin Music, Disco & Oldies. With skills in design & graphics along with many years of print industry experience in NYC, he keeps pretty busy at his home office. Nino Torre offers a multitude of services and experience to the Music, Dance & Entertainment industries.
